ALTERNATIVE TRADITION
It has been a while since we invited our friends at the South Florida
Bluegrass Association to send over one of their many fine bands. Louise
King and Tim Capps and others do a fine job presenting some of the best Bluegrass in the nation. In addition to their program the first Sunday of the
month at Greynolds Park, they arrange for their groups to perform at festivals and programs throughout South Florida.

Tonight, Alternative Tradition will entertain us with its specialty, Bluegrass music as well as folk, contemporary rock and traditional music presented in the bluegrass style. Yes, there are specific unique elements in Bluegrass music including the fingering, the design of the instruments and the mixture of instruments. The specifics are another subject; we are only concerned here with the great music we all love. And Alternative Tradition will bring us plenty of that.
Alternative Tradition has been performing together for 6 years and performs regularly at the monthly South Florida Bluegrass Association Festivals as well as their annual Everglades Festival and Hollywood’s Red White and Bluegrass event. Band members are Mark Anton – banjo, Charles Mason – guitar, Justin Mason – Mandolin, and Trey Mullen – bass. Visit their website to hear their very tight sound and some great picking.
Then come on over Saturday for more in person. “Ain’t nobody don’t
like Bluegrass!”
