DAPHNA ROSE
Once again we are mining the endless vein of talent in South Florida. Singer/songwriter
daphna rose was educated at the University of Chicago and Berklee College of Music. She has
lived and worked as a musician in Washington D.C., New York City, Virginia, Lisbon Chicago,
San Fransico, Boston, Barcelona, Nashville and Miami. She lived in Roosevelt, NJ as a young child
where Pete Seeger would sometimes attend parties and jams at her parents home.
The tone and quality of her voice is often innocent yet sensual, sometimes filled with blue and
when called for quite powerful. She fuses jazz, folk, country, gospel, classical and rock to create a
distinct style in her singing, guitar and piano playing. The uninhibited harmonic structure and timing of
her tunes is purely her own. Each interpretation is a painting unique to that performance. Savored by a
wide audience. daphna lives in Miami and is blessed with three sons and is a cantorial soloist pursuing
further training as a cantor. She is a resource music teacher at several Hebrew day schools in Greater
Miami.
daphna is and always has been fully involved with her music and lives to perform, teach and share it.
We are pleased to give her this opportunity do so with us this evening.
