Nova Scotia folk duo “Naming the Twins” is bringing their “bright breezy delightful” harmonies to North Miami and will be onstage on Monday Feb 3 at 7:30pm at Luna Star Cafe. (http://www.lunastarcafe.com/index.htm)
Naming the Twins is the harmony filled guy-gal duo of Robbie Smith and Kathleen Glauser whose well matched voices sound a bit like Simon & Garfunkel, if Art was a girl, or a bit like Peter, Paul & Mary, if one of the boys was taking the night off.
Robbie comes from a “tradition bearer” family – shipbuilders and folksingers—and is the songwriter of the group with a lifetime of widely varied styles in his repertoire, some being recorded by Roger Whittaker. Kath shares his inspiration and brings an engaging voice as well as a knack for vocal harmonies.
Naming The Twins is entertaining in Florida as part of a 22 performance tour promoting their second CD “Drifters and Dreamers”. It features all original folk songs with a Canadiana – Americana theme, taking the listener from the wild seas off the coast of Newfoundland to the deep south of the USA.
