Call to Artists: 3rd Annual Florida Listening Room Festival

Posted by Fran Snyder - August 2, 2013 - Uncategorized

Florida’s Third Annual Listening Room Festival is looking for singer-songwriters and small ensembles,  and spoken-word artists. www.ListeningRoomFestival.com  Video invite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTDKyt53CIY  Deadline: August 15th.

Florida’s Third Annual Listening Room Festival presents a contest to select the six winners, including one Florida Based artist, for a featured performance at the Showcase Finale on Sunday, April 6th, 2014 at the Palladium in St. Petersburg, the hub of Florida’s yearly Listening Room Festival. Scheduled next year for April 1-7, the weeklong event creates a Florida tour of paying gigs with a mix of house concerts, office concerts, charity performances and more. At least two of the Top Ten acts selected will be Florida resident artists. One will be a Featured Showcase Finale Artist and both will have the chance to perform at promo events prior to and during the Festival.

Applications will be accepted through Thursday, August 15th. Artists may submit two videos and their website along with a $60 application fee. Judges will include industry professionals, house concert hosts, listening room venues and fans. The winners will be announced on Sunday, September 15th. All contestants will receive a copy of Fran Snyder’s “250 Truer Fans” – a brand new eBook detailing recent innovations and techniques that allow artists to tour enjoyably and profitably. ($45 list price)

This is the first time that the Festival is opening the application process to non-members of ConcertsInYourHome.com. “It’s a fantastic opportunity motivates artists to step up their game and create videos as part of their promo kit,” says Fran Snyder, Founder of the Listening Room Network’s family of affiliated companies, explains. “A decent video camera, even an iPhone, can record a song that might not only win them a place in our Festival line-up, but increase their future bookings.”
