Dr. Bob’s Songwriters Workshop and Acoustic Salon
First, I’d like to than Linda and Ray Randazzo for their great workshop presentations during last night’s event at Your Big Picture Café. The songwriters workshops are steadily growing in attendance, and we were happy to be joined last evening by newcomers Bill and Laura Kay, Willy Coleman, and The Dusty Road Rangers’ Joe Fariello and Michael Duff.
On April 18th Len Perry and Bill Hennessy will be conducting workshops, on May 16th George Longus will be presenting, and then on June 20th Kathy Bailey will be our guest speaker.
Now for the name change. This event was designed as a monthly discussion group offshoot to Your Big Picture Cafe’s weekly open mic (every Saturday, 7pm to midnight with Len and Lance Perry). Originally, I had envisioned the event to be a combination of discussion and jamming, but it seems we’re all about the discussing (we have done very little actual jamming).
So, we are now a “Songwriters Workshop and Acoustic Salon.” Starting next month, we’ll have our presenters during the first part of the program, and then we’ll open it up to anyone who wants to share a song (original or cover) that they’ve been working on, followed by constructive critique.
